Hi everyone,
I just wanted to send a quick update to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding expectations for the Fall season.
First and foremost, we want to be transparent that rules may change as the season progresses due to the evolving nature of the pandemic.
We will do everything we can to ensure that we play a full season, which means that we plan to abide by the most up-to-date guidelines put forth by the city, state, and CDC.
At this point in time, the rules are as follows:
- If you have tested positive for COVID or have a reasonable expectation that you have been exposed, DO NOT come to your game. You are expected to abide by the 10-day quarantine rule after testing positive before returning to the fields. Violators will be suspended from participating for the rest of the season.
- If you are not feeling well the day of a game, DO NOT come to the game.
- No high-fives or handshakes after the games.
- Each team is expected to spread out on separate sidelines, as opposed to sharing one sideline.
- Spectators are not prohibited, but they are expected to socially distance (6 feet) from other spectators while on the sidelines.
- No dogs are allowed at the fields.
- Pick up your trash. If you bring something in, make sure you take it out.
Let’s have a great season!
Best,
Roxanne

HI SLOWS!
We finally heard back from the city last week and got a green light to start playing again in the spring; however, the timeline was very short and would have required us to put everything together in about two weeks for a really brief season.
Given that we still don’t have specific information about what guidelines we would have to follow, we have elected to wait until the fall to start a season.
However, the good news is that we are optimistic that we will be able to have a full season in the fall!
New players, please still let us know if you’d like to be contacted when we start to organize things for fall, you can fill out our Player Interest Form and we’ll keep your information ready for the new season!
Thanks!

Hi SLOWS!
As many of you may have guessed, our Fall 2020 Season has been cancelled.
While the City of San Luis Obispo has not officially taken a stance as to whether they are going to open the fields at any point in time, they have also not issued permits to play in the fall. Many local leagues have cancelled their fall seasons, including all of the local AYSO leagues.
As a result, we felt it was best to make the health and safety of our players and their families a priority, and proceed cautiously.
Team Reps will be updated about any updates we may receive regarding field usage and permits, and if a later opening date allows for a truncated season.
We hope everyone is staying safe and sane in these trying times. Please feel free to reach out to your SLOWS Board with any questions or concerns.
WE MISS YOU ALL!

Let’s play soccer!
Games are GO for this Sunday, January 20th.
Please take into consideration this statement from the City of San Luis Obispo regarding field conditions:
Fields are open for play this weekend. Please note that grass has not been mowed since last week so play will be slow. Lines are visible and the fields still have some moisture.
Please remember that if the following conditions are present, you should stay off the fields:
- If there are standing puddles of water on the field
- If the footing is unsure and slippery
- If the ground is water logged and “squishy”
- If the grass can be pulled out of the ground easily
If any of these conditions are present, please stay off the fields.
See you on the field!!
Talk about REDEMPTION!
Looks like Dynamite ended up prevailing over The Vultures after playing all the way to penalty kicks to win!
Next week’s games are listed below – we all get one more game to wind up our 2018 Fall Season!
Championship: Dynamite v Ice at 10:45 am – Field A
Third Place: Napoli v. Crush at 9:00 am – Field A
Consolation 1: Vultures v. Atlas – 9:00 am – Daryl Damon
Consolation 2: Sharks v. Lightning – 10:45 am – Daryl Damon
See you next weekend!
First off, Congratulations to The Turkey Vultures on their Fall 2018 Season Win and an undefeated season!!
Now it’s time for REDEMPTION!
Here is the schedule for the next three weekends (rain will cancel, however we have Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 available just in case).
As a friendly reminder, PLEASE do not bring dogs to Damon Garcia. Due to a continuing issue regarding off-leash dogs and the lack of picking up after pets, dogs are not permitted at Damon-Garcia Sports Complex, including when on-leash – with the exception of service dogs. If a citation is issued based on violating the SLO City Municipal Code it will be issued to the dog owner and they bear responsibility for their actions.
Thank you, and have fun!!
