Hey SLOWS! The Kristiansen Classic is coming up on October 3rd and 4th. It is played at UC Santa Barbara. They are looking to fill out a few categories, and are in need of teams. Our Fearless Leader Rachael will organize a team if you are interested in playing – contact her if you are.

Here is the plea from the organizer of the Classic:

Hi Soccer Stars,

Some of you may know me from previous tournaments and playing together.  My name is Holly Angel and I am the Tournament Director for the Kristiansen Klassic.  I need your help.  I am looking for a few additional teams for the upcoming tournament.  I know that your Fall Schedule has already been posted but I’m hoping that a few of your teams may want to play in the tournament and since you are so close, I’m hoping that I can entice you to join us this year.

As you may or may not know, our tournament is a fundraiser for a variety of foundations and in the honor and memory of Ina Kristiansen who passed from Leukemia in 1992.  Going on our 23^rd year, we are proud to have added over 500 members to the National Bone Marrow Registry and donated thousands of dollars to multiple organizations.

I’m asking for your help to fill some divisions in our tournament.  I need the following:

Open Division – 18 years and over (I need at least 1 team to keep this division open)

Over 30’s – I have room for at least 2-3 teams

Coed – I need at least 1 more team to keep this division open

The Cal Poly Women’s Soccer program is asking you to reserve October 23 to come watch CP play UC Irvine in an attempt to break an attendance record.

Yes, it’s only June, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the SLO Friendly 7v7 Tournament in September!

This tournament is super fun and laid back! Open subs, co-ed teams, music and merriment… even team themed costumes are welcome 🙂

The fields of Damon Garcia in San Luis Obispo will have been freshly opened and should be in great condition.

All games will be played at the Cal Poly Sports Complex Turf fields.

PLEASE NOTE THE RULES concerning these turf fields. (sorry, no puppies allowed)

The following activities or items are NOT allowed on the Synthetic Turf Fields:
 Animals (except to assist persons of disability)
 Bicycles
 Chairs (must only be placed on concrete)
 Food or drink on the field surface (water only)  Alcoholic beverages
 Glass containers
 Sunflower seeds and gum
 Tobacco products
 Fireworks or any open flame
 Golfing, shot putting, javelin or discus throwing
 Unauthorized use of model planes or rockets
 Metal cleats and spikes (only formed rubber cleats are allowed)
 Painting, chalking, tape or other adhesive material without prior approval
 Stakes, spikes or other pointed objects
 Formal practice without prior field reservation

Parking is available in H-15 and H-14 lots. Parking is free on Sunday, unless you are notified otherwise.

Home team is responsible for providing a game ball and for changing jerseys in case of a color conflict.
