UPDATE – Fall 2021 Season? Read more!

HI SLOWS!

We finally heard back from the city last week and got a green light to start playing again in the spring; however, the timeline was very short and would have required us to put everything together in about two weeks for a really brief season.

Given that we still don’t have specific information about what guidelines we would have to follow, we have elected to wait until the fall to start a season.

However, the good news is that we are optimistic that we will be able to have a full season in the fall!

New players, please still let us know if you’d like to be contacted when we start to organize things for fall, you can fill out our Player Interest Form and we’ll keep your information ready for the new season!

FALL SEASON 2020 – CANCELLED

Hi SLOWS!

As many of you may have guessed, our Fall 2020 Season has been cancelled.

While the City of San Luis Obispo has not officially taken a stance as to whether they are going to open the fields at any point in time, they have also not issued permits to play in the fall. Many local leagues have cancelled their fall seasons, including all of the local AYSO leagues.

As a result, we felt it was best to make the health and safety of our players and their families a priority, and proceed cautiously.

Team Reps will be updated about any updates we may receive regarding field usage and permits, and if a later opening date allows for a truncated season.

We hope everyone is staying safe and sane in these trying times. Please feel free to reach out to your SLOWS Board with any questions or concerns.

SPRING SEASON – SUSPENDED

Hi SLOWS –

As you are all aware, public health officials have released guidelines that have resulted in the cancelling of events, closing of schools, and restrictions on gatherings.

In order to do our part and protect the players (and families) in this league, we are suspending the current season. At this time, it is unclear how long the suspension will last or what it means for the rest of our season. As time unfolds, we will address what it means regarding standings, team refunds/dues, remaining games, etc.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we try to figure out how to navigate this situation.

Summer Foot Golf at Laguna Lake Golf Course!

Hey SLOWS! Laguna Lake Golf Course has summer foot golf! Their first Foot Golf weekend is this Sunday – conveniently right after our SLOWS Sunday Pickup Games at Laguna Middle School!

Here’s information from the City of SLO:

The Laguna Lake Golf Course is pleased to announce the addition of FootGolf at the course. This summer, the course will feature two afternoon dates per month for members of the community to experience one of today’s fastest growing sports.

The first date is coming up this Sunday June 9 from 1-6 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to mix a great sport with one of the best maintained golf courses in the county.

GAMES CANCELLED MAR. 3

Sorry SLOWS – the rain we so desperately need is also a detriment to our schedule this season. Please realize that we’re at the mercy of the weather and the regulations set forth by the City of San Luis Obispo – hey at least we got games in last weekend, right?

These next few days look like they’re going to be a doozy! Next weekend looks OK so far – we’ll keep you posted!
