HEY SLOWS! –
SLO Parks and Rec has just contacted us – they have closed the fields as of 12PM tomorrow due to the rainstorm that is predicted to come in. We WILL NOT have games this Sunday, March 11th.
Below is a revised schedule for the remainder of the season. Here is a link to a printable PDF.
We have the fields for another 5 weeks, and as voted on at the January meeting, we have now scheduled for all 12 of the Sundays available to us according to the permit that we applied for.
PLEASE NOTE: We do take a break on April 1st for Easter, and since we are the lowest on the priority list for the City, we didn’t get the fields on April 8th due to a youth tournament.

We are pleased to announce the Spring 2018 Schedule. Games start Sunday, January 21st.
As many of you know, we are playing at Damon Garcia once more, instead of the Cal Poly fields in seasons past. We have built in 5 extra rain-out weekends which can be worked into Redemption Tournament games if not used. Thats 12 weeks of soccer if we don’t get rained out! Woo hoo!
SLOWS will be playing on fields B and the Daryl Damon upper field this season.

Hi SLOWS! Here is your Fall 2017 Redemption Tournament Schedule and information.
Since we are an 8 team league this season and have had beautiful weather (fingers crossed!) with no rain outs, we are fortunate to still have the extra weeks that we have reserved on our contract available to us for normal play. For this reason we are able to have our tournament consist of FULL games, everyone will be guaranteed ALL 3 games and times will remain 9:00AM and 10:45AM! The first Round will be on 10/8/17, second 10/15/17, and final games of the season will be 10/22/17.

Here’s an update from our Executive Board regarding the remainder of the season:
This week was the end of league play for our season and the standings will be used to determine placement for the end of the season tournament. Because Field A has been heavily used since the field opening, is already in terrible shape, and taking into consideration your safety, we have changed our permit for the remainder of the season and we will play on Fields B and C.
The games for October 1st are friendlies, were picked at random (literally the team names were written on pieces of paper and two at a time drawn out of President Rachel’s hat), and give us the opportunity to play the 8th game we lost this season when we lost a team.
The games are as follows:
10/1 – Friendlies:
Field B at 9:00AM-Vultures vs. Ice
Field B at 10:45AM-Sharks vs. Dynamite
Field C at 9:00AM-Lightning vs. Crush
Field C at 10:45AM-Napoli vs. Atlas
For the dates of 10/8, 10/15, and 10/22 we will be having a tournament that spans over these three dates. This will allow us to play FULL games over 3 weeks instead of playing 3 shortened games in one day. Placings on the bracket will be determined based on season rankings. Kory Fontes will distribute the schedule after all the results from Sunday and other missing season games have been submitted.

The Kristiansen Klassic Soccer Tournament registration is open! Here is the information from the Tournament Committee:
2017 Marks the 25th Anniversary of the Kristiansen Klassic!
The tournament will take place at UCSB in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA on October 7 – 8, 2017.
Registration is NOW OPEN. The official registration form and the official tournament rules are attached to this email. Please make sure to mail your registration to the address on the form. All registration forms must be accompanied by a check or money order (one check/money order per team). Your team will be confirmed after we receive payment.
Please let us know if you’d like to save a spot for your team with your team name and the division you wish to enter.
Please do not send in your team roster at this time. You will be asked for your official roster form in the weeks leading up to the tournament. You can change the roster all the way up until your first game. No roster changes are allowed after the first game.

Our Divisions are as follows:
Age Requirements (as of October 1st of Tournament Year):
Open Division: 18 years old (no gift players)
Over 30: 30 years old (2 players between 25-29 allowed)
Over 40: 40 years old (2 players between 35-39 allowed)
Over 50: 50 years old (2 players between 45-49 allowed)
Over 55: 55 years old (no gift players)
Coed: Women- 27 years old; Men – 30 years old (no exceptions, no gift players)
Our host hotel this is the Ramada Inn. They will be offering tournament members a special room rate. Please see the attached document containing information about booking rooms at the Ramada Inn and other hotels in the area. Hotels in Santa Barbara and Goleta book fast, so please book your hotel room(s) quickly. The Ramada Inn is conveniently located off Highway 101 and is near UCSB and local restaurants.

Here is your SLOWS Fall 2017 Schedule.
With the loss of Surge, we are down to 8 teams total, so no team has a weekly bye.
There will be 7 league games and 4 rain-outs/friendlies.
Team Reps: Please keep an eye out for Surge players looking to connect and join a team. We would like to keep them playing so we can have them back on the schedule in the Spring. If you know anyone that would like to play and you can’t fit them on your team please be sure to pass them to Surge for next season.
